
Biography
Kathy Salvi is a senior partner at Salvi & Maher, LLP, where she brings more than 35 years of litigation experience and a strong track record of client-centered advocacy. A graduate of Loyola University Chicago (B.A., 1981) and Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D., 1984), she began her legal career as a judicial clerk for Justice Harry D. Strouse of the Illinois Appellate Court, followed by service as an Assistant Public Defender in Lake County. There, she earned distinction by securing 11 consecutive jury trial victories and another on appeal.
Kathy entered private practice in 1987 and has since handled a wide range of complex injury cases throughout Illinois. She is licensed to practice before the Illinois State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to her legal work, Kathy has been actively involved in civic and educational efforts, including over two decades of service with the Midtown Educational Foundation, and leadership roles in parish and homeschooling initiatives. She has been recognized with awards from the Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation and the Eagle Forum. In 2022, she was the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Illinois, and in 2024, she was elected Chair of the Illinois Republican Party.
Kathy resides in Mundelein with her husband, former State Representative Al Salvi. They have six children and ten grandchildren.
